data-mm-id=”_g91q38ux5″>Veteran wide receiver Demaryius Thomas is not looking back at his brief New England Patriots stint with any fondness. The current New York Jet told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News that his time in Foxboro was ultimately a big, fat waste of time and the trust tree's branches extended only one way. Thomas, who was cut by the Patriots in August, was under the assumption he'd be re-signed. Instead, the Pats took a chance on Antonio Brown, who had successfully acted crazy enough to earn his exit from Oakland. Thomas was then flipped to the Jets eight days later. ““It was insulting, for sure,” Thomas told the Daily News Wednesday in a candid discussion about his time in Foxborough. “Once I got cut (on August 31), I could have just come here (to the Jets) and not stayed there and re-sign. When they re-signed me, I was thinking that I was good. Two weeks later, I was gone. So, it’s like, ‘Why did I waste my time?’ Because at the end of the day, it was kind of a waste of time for me.”””“They took a chance to bring me in and helped me get healthy,” Thomas said. “I always knew I was going to be able to still play . . . and it would have worked out because I was still learning their offense. Josh McDaniels drafted me [in Denver]. So, I felt like I was cool. But even having conversations with him and couple other people, it was like, ‘You’re going to be okay.’ Two weeks later, AB gets cut . . . and then they kicked me [to the curb] and shipped me out like I’m just a rookie.””While one feels for Thomas on a human level and his disappointment is understandable, anyone with a tenuous grasp of New England's modus operandi will not be shocked that such behavior took place. Bill Belichick is not known for his soft touch and the organization is all about working the angles even at the expense of the touch-feely personal stuff. The results really speak for themselves. The piece makes it clear that Thomas isn't angry, he's just disappointed. Like a dad who finds out there was, in fact, drinking at the post-homecoming party at Jake's house. This will be catnip to the anti-Pats crowd, which is nice because everyone should find some enjoyment this season before Tom Brady & Co. hoist yet another trophy in February.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expects Manchester United supporters to see plenty more of Shola Shoretire in the future after the 17-year-old s history-making appearance against Real Sociedad on Thursday.
Shoretire, who made his senior debut in United s Premier League win over Newcastle United at the weekend, was introduced for the final 14 minutes of the 0-0 draw with La Real to become the Red Devil s youngest ever player in European competition at the age of 17 years and 23 days.

Arsenal interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg claimed his players produced the right style of play in their 2-2 draw with Norwich City on Sunday.
Ljungberg was promoted from a coaching role to take temporary charge of the Gunners for the trip to Carrow Road after Unai Emery was sacked on Friday.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted a brace as Arsenal twice fought back to earn a point following goals from Teemu Pukki and Todd Cantwell.
The Gunners were more adventurous with some of their attacking play, which pleased former Sweden international Ljungberg, who played for Arsenal between 1998 and 2007.
We started the game really well, that’s how I want to play football, Ljungberg told Sky Sports.

Gianluigi Donnarumma revealed he was unaware Italy had beaten England when making the decisive save on Bukayo Saka s penalty in the Euro 2020 final.
The 22-year-old also kept out Jadon Sancho s attempt from the spot, while Marcus Rashford hit the post, as Italy prevailed 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time at Wembley.
Donnarumma s reaction to saving Saka s attempt was muted, with the goalkeeper calmly walking away before being mobbed by his team-mates.
But he has explained his response to helping Italy clinch their first European Championship crown since 1968 was due to him losing track of the score, rather than being in complete control of his emotions.

Kepa Arrizabalaga s adaptation to the demands of goalkeeping in the Premier League has won the approval of Chelsea coach Carlo Cudicini.
Chelsea made Kepa the most expensive keeper in football history when they met an €80million release clause to prise him from Athletic Bilbao in August.
The 24-year-old has been an ever present in the Premier League for Maurizio Sarri s side this term, conceding only 16 times in 21 appearances.
Cudicini, now a member of fellow Italian Sarri s backroom staff, moved to Chelsea from Castel di Sangro in 1999 and went on to play in England s top flight for more than a decade – joining Tottenham in 2009 before departing for LA Galaxy in 2012.
It s kind of the same thing as for Maurizio. Especially for a goalkeeper, the Pre…

Cristiano Ronaldo s 760th goal in professional football helped deliver Supercoppa Italiana glory for Juventus as they beat Napoli 2-0 after Lorenzo Insigne s penalty miss.
Having seen their aspirations of again retaining the Serie A title dealt a blow by a 2-0 loss to rivals Inter, Juve could have been considered vulnerable to a Napoli side coming off a 6-0 thumping of Fiorentina.
But Andrea Pirlo s men grew into the game in the second half and Ronaldo rewarded their efforts with what proved to be the decisive goal in the 64th minute.
Pirlo s first title as Juve head coach came with a dramatic conclusion, however, Insigne incredibly chipping wide from the spot after Weston McKinnie had felled Dries Mertens before Napoli were caught cold on an injury-time counter …
