Napoli in talks with Atalanta starlet

Napoli are closing in on Atalanta hotshot Giacomo Bonaventura, the player’s representative has revealed.

The Azzurri have been tracking the talented midfielder for a while now and they have reportedly made him one of their top targets in the summer transfer window.

Bonaventura’s representative now confirms they are in talks with Napoli, but states that much will depend on whether Walter Mazzarri remains at Stadio San Paolo.

“Napoli are tracking Bonaventura, but I also hear talk of a probable change of management,” agent Giocondo Martorelli explained to Radio Crc.

“We are waiting to see how the situation evolves. Atalanta are coming off two important wins that have given them real confidence.”

Giacomo “Jack” Bonaventura came through the famous Atalanta youth academy, but had to prove his worth to the club during loan spells with Pergocrema and Padova.

He returned to the club ahead of the 2010/2011 season and has since become a key member of the side at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia.

The 23-year-old, who is mostly used as a left-sided midfielder, has made a total of 89 Serie A appearances for Orobici and scored no less than 17 goals in the process.
