2nd August: Sunday’s European Accumulator – 8/1

17:00 SPAL vs Fiorentina

Gaining a long list of admirers from across Italy after their return from football s enforced break, Fiorentina have managed to sneak themselves back into the top-half of the Serie A standings. Putting on what was a rampant display in midweek and helped by a Federico Chiesa hat-trick on Wednesday night, the Purples marched to a rampant 4-0 win against Bologna on home soil. While they might have once again missed out on a chance to secure a European return this season, Head Coach Giuseppe Iachini has certainly turned around Fiorentina s issues after a woeful campaign last year. Really bouncing back from their 2-1 defeat away at a high-flying Roma last weekend, Sunday s guests have lost just one of their last eight Serie A appearances and have collected some notable scalps on their recent purple patch. Taking points off of second-place Inter Milan at the San Siro last month, La Viola have also caught the eye with their continued displays on the road. Including back-to-back victories away at Parma and Leece when making their return from the enforced break, there is no doubt that Fiorentina should be looking to sign off their campaign with another statement this weekend. Hit with a dreadful 3-0 drumming away at Parma and long-since confirming their relegation, a rock-bottom SPAL are simply desperate for the 2019/2020 campaign to come to an end. Already lifting the wooden spoon this summer, Sunday s hosts find themselves in the midst of an 11-match winless run in Italy s top-flight, collecting just a pair of points. Picking up a 4-1 win when they last made the trip to Ferrara, we re backing a similar outcome this weekend.

Tip: Fiorentina to win by 2+ goals @ 21/20

19:45 Genoa vs Verona

Starting with Sunday s guests, while on paper it might show the Verona have nothing left to play for ahead of their Serie A finale this weekend, I Gialloblu are desperate to secure a top-10 finish following their top-flight return last summer. Despite enduring what has been a difficult return from football s enforced break last month and facing off against a string of Italian heavyweights, Ivan Jurić s men have gained a long list of admirers for what has been an outstanding campaign overall. Still knowing that they could finish the 2019/2020 campaign as high as eighth, Verona should also be boosted by what was an eye-catching display earlier in the week. Bouncing back to winning ways in empathic fashion, they managed to land a 3-0 romp against an already-relegated SPAL and have picked up some notable scalps over the past month. Since marking their return to action, the Yellow and Blues have taken points off of the likes of Inter Milan, Atalanta and Fiorentina. Along with leaving both the San Siro and the Stadio Olimpico with something to show for themselves earlier in the year, Verona will be looking to sign their campaign off in style. On the flip side, while Genoa might know that they still sit in pole position to extend on their Serie A status this summer, they hold just a one-point buffer over the drop zone and appear to have slumped back to their old ways. Completely blown away in comical fashion earlier in the week, Sunday s hosts were hit with a season-worst 5-0 defeat against Sassuolo and have now been hit with back-to-back defeats, conceding eight and failing to bag a single strike in return.

Tip: Verona double chance @ 6/4
