Napoli in talks with Atalanta starlet

Napoli are closing in on Atalanta hotshot Giacomo Bonaventura, the player’s representative has revealed.

The Azzurri have been tracking the talented midfielder for a while now and they have reportedly made him one of their top targets in the summer transfer window.

Bonaventura’s representative now confirms they are in talks with Napoli, but states that much will depend on whether Walter Mazzarri remains at Stadio San Paolo.

“Napoli are tracking Bonaventura, but I also hear talk of a probable change of management,” agent Giocondo Martorelli explained to Radio Crc.

“We are waiting to see how the situation evolves. Atalanta are coming off two important wins that have given them real confidence.”

Premier League and FA Cup predictions – United to power on whilst Tottenham ease their worries and increase them for Sunderland

Not many games to predict this week at the top of the English game. Three FA Cup quarter-final ties, one FA Cup 5th round tie and one Premier League game.

Lat week I managed to correctly predict only three results out of nine. With only five to work with this week there must be a very real chance of getting absolutely none right!

Premier League

Sunderland v Tottenham

Sunderland have been giving the impression of being a team that have climbed to safety under Ricky Sbragia. I have watched them play and they look like a decent mid-table side. However, their 2-0 defeat at Liverpool (and let’s be honest, not many lose at Liverpool these days!) took their current run to only two wins in their last nine league games.<…

Inter Milan in talks for Simon Kjaer

Turkish media outlet Milli Gazete claims that Inter Milan are stepping up their efforts to sign Danish defender Simon Kjaer.

It is no secret that the Nerazzurri are in the market for defensive reinforcements and they appear to be hot on the trail of the former Palermo centre-back.

Milli Gazete understands that Inter Milan officials have established initial contact with the player, while it is believed that Fenerbahce would require between €12m and €15m for their star footballer.

It was at Palermo that the 27-year-old had made a name for himself and he also represented Wolfsburg, AS Roma and Lille before signing for Fenerbahce in July 2015.

Kjaer has since made 39 league appearances for the Turkish giants, scoring 3 goals in the process, and he curren…

Wolfsburg´s Lopes suffers broken metatarsal

Wolfsburg defender Felipe Lopes, who suffered a mini-stroke in July 2014, has broken a metatarsal bone in training, the Bundesliga club have confirmed.

Lopes, who last played in a competitive fixture in May 2013 – when he featured for Stuttgart – suffered a transient ischemic attack at his home while watching Brazil take on the Netherlands in the World Cup.

The 28-year-old defender finally returned to training at the start of September, but he is now set to miss the majority of the season.

A short statement on Wolfsburg s official website read: The central defender suffered a broken metatarsal during training on Thursday September 10th. He will be out of action for quite some time.

Rooney departs for USA ahead of MLS move

Wayne Rooney is on his way to United States ahead of a proposed move to MLS with DC United.

The former England captain returned to boyhood club Everton from Manchester United in 2017, but a switch to the USA has long been mooted.

And amid reports that DC will confirm his arrival on Thursday, Rooney posted an update on his Twitter page, a picture on an aeroplane along with an emoji of the US flag.

Rooney is reportedly set to sign a two-and-a-half year contract worth £10million, making him the best paid player in the franchise s history.

D´Aversa signs new deal after taking Parma up

Parma head coach Roberto D Aversa promised to repay the club s faith in him after being rewarded for winning promotion to Serie A with a new two-year contract.

The 42-year-old arrived at Stadio Ennio Tardini in December 2016 and took control of a Parma side that was newly promoted to Serie C after bankruptcy had previously seen the club relegated to the fourth tier of Italian football.

D Aversa won promotion to Serie B in his first season and then guided the team to second place in 2017-18 to earn promotion back to Serie A.

After signing his new deal with the Ducali, D Aversa told the club s official website:  It is an honour to receive the trust of the club.

Jo joins Neill at Galatasaray

Brazil striker Jo has joined Turkish club Galatasaray on loan until the end of this season, it was announced Thursday.

Jo was on a season-long loan from Manchester City to their Premier League rivals Everton, where he scored seven goals in 36 appearances during two spells at Goodison Park, but the Merseysiders confirmed that deal had been cut short.

He did not endear himself to manager David Moyes by returning to Brazil earlier this month without the Everton boss s permission and a club statement said: A season-long loan deal for the player had been agreed between Everton and Manchester City in the summer, but this has been cut short.

Earlier this month David Moyes revealed that Jo had been suspended by the club for returning to Brazil without permission. That …

Manchester City complete Navas signing

The Spain international joins the Premier League runners-up following a 10-year spell with the La Liga outfit.
Navas won six trophies in his time at Sevilla, winning the UEFA Europa League and Copa del Rey on two occasions, in addition to securing success in Spanish Super Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
The 27-year-old made 393 appearances during his career at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, but is eager to take on a fresh challenge at the Etihad Stadium.
He told City s official website: Manchester City is an exciting project and this is the right moment for me to take this step. I m very happy with the opportunity and the decision.

Pereira: My future is at Manchester United

Andreas Pereira remains confident he will eventually succeed at Manchester United.

The Brazil Under-23 international made his first-team debut at United under Louis van Gaal in 2014, but has since failed to secure regular first-team football.

He was sent out on loan to Granada in June and, though he has become a key figure at the Spanish side, is determined to establish himself at Old Trafford.

My plan is to get more experience here, to get into that rhythm of playing every week at a high level, then go back stronger to United, with a better football knowledge, the attacking midfielder told the Manchester Evening News.

I came to Spain to play and get more time on the pitch. With each game I feel that I m getting better and better.

I think I ha…

Napoli ready to bid for Michy Batshuayi

Serie A hotshots Napoli are said to be looking at the Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi as a potential summer reinforcement in the attacking department.

The Belgium international is back with Chelsea following a six-month loan at Borussia Dortmund but it is still unclear whether the Blues new boss Maurizio Sarri is planning to utilize him next season.

Sarri has already been linked with moves for the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Robert Lewandowski which is enough to suggest that Batshuayi is once again being disregarded at Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a fine spell in Germany in the second part of the 2017/18 season, scoring nine goals in 14 competitive appearances for Borussia Dortmund.

His high-flying Bundesliga stint was reportedly enough to p…
